High-Speed Bottled Water Packaging Lines
Design Group has led the design, installation and startup of multiple high-speed PET bottled water lines. Projects included build-out of existing plants, as well as new Greenfield operations. Scope has included the integration and installation of injection machines, blow-molders, fillers & labelers, packers, and palletizers from the industry’s leading suppliers, as well as the design and integration of the utility and support systems for these lines.
Design Group services included Project Management, Electrical and Mechanical Layout & Design, Installation Packages, Electrical Engineering/Controls/SCADA, Contractor Installation Management, and Complete Startup and Commissioning responsibility for the lines.

High-Speed Solid Dosage Filling and Packaging Lines
Design Group provided two turnkey solid dosage lines to a major Pharmaceutical manufacturer on a fast-track basis. Teams from four offices supported the project, which involved OEM equipment specification and procurement, off-site integration and pre-qualification, installation, training, startup, and validation. |

Capacity Expansion Projects (Multiple)
Design Group has provided extensive engineering consulting services for the last 7 years to an industry-leading beverage company to support the expansion and diversification of their production capacity. Our scope has included the design, installation, and commissioning of nearly 30 PET bottled water lines. Technologies included self manufacture of bottles, inclusive of on-site injection molding, blow-fill, single blow-molders, and dual blow-molders utilizing the latest technologies from two of the world's leading suppliers. Primary packaging configurations include bottle sizes from 8 oz. to 1 gallon with line rates of 1200 bpm on 0.5 L packages. Secondary packaging operations include tray, tray-shrink, shrink pad and bundle applications. Design Group has also supported a number of product initiatives including bottle light-weighting, specialty bottle designs, and shrink/ROSO labeling. |

202 Container Conversions
Design Group was commissioned by a major brewery to provide design coordination and field management for the conversion of 22 production lines in 6 facilities across the country from a 204 style end to a 202 style end. Design Group was able to assemble multiple teams from across the country to implement the conversion at each of the client’s facilities while coordinating the initiative from a single location. This project represents an excellent example of our ability to execute at both a regional and national level. |

Vaccine Packaging Line
Members of Design Group’s fill/finish and regulatory team provided more than 25,000 hours of professional service to a major vaccine manufacturer. Through the collaborative effort of Design Group and client teams, a new line was successfully specified, procured, integrated, installed and validated to produce a pediatric vaccine in unit dose syringes. |

Coffee Packaging Line Relocation and Upgrade
Design Group provided engineering and project management services for a turnkey relocation and upgrade of an existing coffee production line including all raw material handling equipment. In addition to the specification, design, procurement, integration, installation and start-up of the system, Design Group also managed the auditing and upgrade process for all re-used equipment on the line. |

Container Manufacturing – Beverage Industry
Design Group was engaged to audit the production facilities of a major carbonated soft drink producer to define a scope of supply for implementing self manufacturing of the PET bottles within the existing facilities. The scope included facility, infrastructure and packaging modifications. Once approved, Design Group provided services to implement the design in each of the facilities utilizing a phased schedule to minimize disruptions to production. |
